I love cleaning!

If you looked in my bedroom at home or at uni, you would know straight away that I'm not a tidy person but to the disbelief of many, I love cleaning!

I love making things feel nice and fresh, it's a weird form of relaxation. This love for cleaning has continuously escalated and if you come into my room you'll see my vacuum cleaner and carpet cleaner stood proudly in the corner. So with this weird cleaning obsession in mind I'm going to fill you in on everything I love to clean with and why!

Glade Carpet Powder

This stuff makes your carpet smell amazing as well as the vacuum cleaner. Sprinkle it on the floor, leave for a few minutes and then suck it all up with the vacuum. I will add, though, that my cordless Shark vacuum cleaner doesn't like it very much - after sucking up the powder from my small room it got halfway through my little office room and decided it wouldn't go on. Whether it overheated or the filters got jammed with the powder I'm not sure, but I think I'll steer clear of it when using my Shark.

1001 Carpet Spray

Another product to get those carpets smelling fresh! This spray foam absorbs into the carpet and gives it a lift. No need to vacuum or rub it in, just spray it across the floor like snow and leave it to do its thing. This may sound sad, but I like to spray it down the stairs, as it makes the carpet look like the side of a snowy mountain.

Pomegranate Wipes

These became a firm favourite of mine last summer when I was moving out of my house at uni, I wanted to make sure everything was clean and fresh before leaving to avoid those hefty fines from the landlord. The smell of these are amazing and doesn't smell like your typical disinfectant wipe, just fruity and fresh! Yes, I know wipes aren't great for the environment so I usually only grab these as and when I need them.

Rhubarb Spray

This spray has featured before on Behind the Door but I love it so much I'm going to mention it again. This stuff smells amazing! We use it in our house daily to clean the surfaces and it keeps the kitchen smelling fresh. We do only have a little kitchen but our 800ml bottle has been going since September and it doesn't look like it'll be empty any time soon.

Shark

Some people obsess over cars... I obsess over vacuum cleaners. I was kindly given my Shark for my birthday last month and honestly its the best thing ever! It is so powerful and even my carpet which I thought was clean still had dust being sucked up by this thing!

It does have a very short battery life but its perfect for going round my small bedroom or if you change the heads on it perfect for cleaning the stairs or giving the car a quick clean.

Fabric Softener

My favourite sort of cleaning is doing my washing. I love things to smell clean and fresh and so I'm quite often found loading the washing machine. For a long time my favourite smell has been Comfort Tuberose and Vanilla, but sadly when I last went to stock up in Wilko, they didn't have any! So I decided to give Comfort Strawberry and Lily a go, and I'm so pleased. The smell lasts ages on my clothes and my office where I dry my clothes smells incredible all the time, its a lot less subtle than my old one but its a good change.
