Most people start the year by saying “This year I’m going to be more organised!” and it's a good aim to have. Do most of these people stick to it? Probably not.
In September I started my final year of university and so I wanted to sort my life out and become more organised. Since getting my academic year diary in August everything I do lives in there. Here are my top tips on sticking to using a diary...
Make your diary personal and interesting
When I’ve had diaries in the past I’ve gotten bored and ditched it quickly. Previously I’ve bought a personalised diary which makes it feel more special and encourages me to keep up the habit.

Make it seasonal
Again looking at blank white pages can be dull so how about sprucing them up with some stickers. In mine I have put in stickers for Halloween, Christmas and my birthday to make it more exciting and colourful to look at.
Find the style that is right for you
If you like to write a lot then a day-to-view will be your best friend you can go into detail about your day and it could be really good for taking notes. Alternatively if you’re just using your diary more like a calendar than a journal, then a week-to-view will be more up your street. There's plenty of room for what you might be up to that week even some space for some notes.

Plan your meals
I quite like to do a weekly food shop and being a student means sticking to a budget. To stop me from throwing anything and everything in the trolley I plan and list what I need to buy in the notes section of my diary. If it's not on the list, it's not going in.

I hope these tips help, have a happy and organised 2019!
