April Favourites

Updated: Apr 9, 2019

April is finally here, Easter is just around the corner, so that can only mean one thing... chocolate - and lots of it!! Below is some of our favourite things we are using this month.

Kitchen

As I mentioned, Easter is just around the corner, so for me not to mention chocolate would be wrong. This year I am munching on Malteasers MaltEaster Bunnies. If you're looking for an Easter treat that isn't as sickly as your Cadbury's Creme Egg then these might be the Easter treat for you. I picked up a pack of 5 large bunnies for £2 from my local Tesco but they also had packs of the smaller ones for £1. You could of course just wait until Easter Sunday and see if the Easter Bunny has brought you any...

Living

Sometimes I feel like I need a second me constantly reminding the real me to do things. I do have the second best thing though, in the form of my Google Home Mini. I have connected mine to my phone and when I set myself a reminder on there it sends it to my Google Home making it flash at the time I have set for the reminder. This has come handy during the early morning rush to get to uni, it flashes at me and tells me to get my lunch out the fridge. It also works great as a speaker for my music, it might be small but its volume is mighty.

Study

University deadlines are fast approaching and to get me in a productive mood I have picked myself up a new notebook to make notes about upcoming work and essays. It is A5 size so fits perfectly into my bag. It has a monogrammed golden 'A' on the front and so is subtly personalised. The paper inside is light yellow and lined, which is useful because I find I can read better off coloured paper than normal white paper - I thought I was just being weird but apparently I'm not alone with this. Regardless of what you like a notebook to include, I always find getting a new one with fresh crisp pages can spark some inspiration to get working.

Available from: I got mine from Home Bargains for around £2.00.

Bathroom

I love treating myself to a face mask every now and then and when something new and exciting comes along, I'll definitely give it a go. At the moment I am trying Revolution's intense skin exfoliator. As face masks go, this is a strong one. It includes alpha hydroxy acids and beta hydroxy acids. I would definitely check and see if your skin type is ok to use this before putting it anywhere near your face. It's recommended you only use this in the evenings and a maximum of twice a week. I put a couple drops on each section of my face and make sure its evenly covered, leave it for no more than 10 mins and then wash off in the shower. Unlike other face masks this one doesn't really dry, it just goes a bit sticky, this makes it really easy to wash off. You do feel a bit of difference afterwards but this is definitely one that works best when used for an extended period of time and consistently, I have been using it for nearly four weeks and my skin does feel smoother and is a more even tone. Be warned that acids make your skin more sensitive to UV rays so make sure you apply sun cream or a moisturiser with SPF in it afterwards.
